As its name “Yorkshire Terrier” or “Yorkie” is named for the city in England, where he was for many years. He is a fearless, energetic and assertive dog. Yet he is very lively, affectionate and happy. He is not a dog who can be left alone in a yard or open space; he needs human companionship, closeness and always likes to be near you.
